Dr. Xaybandith Rasphone, Vice President of the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LNCCI) and Head of the Employers' and Industry Representation Committee, had the honor of co-chairing the meeting alongside Ms. Yuki Kobayashi, Program Coordinator from the International Labour Organization (ILO).
The event was also attended by representatives of the tripartite constituents: the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare (MOLSW), the Lao Federation of Trade Unions (LFTU), and LNCCI, along with various delegates from enterprises and business associations.
The primary objective of the meeting was to enhance the capacity of Lao enterprises and entrepreneurs by utilizing the "MNE Declaration" (Multinational Enterprises Declaration) as a guiding framework for implementation. Specifically, the session was designed to:
- Raise Awareness: Deepen the understanding of the MNE Declaration as a strategic tool for developing Responsible Business Conduct (RBC).
- Disseminate Practical Lessons: Showcase real-world case studies of Lao enterprises that have successfully translated international standards into practical workplace applications.
- Encourage Peer Learning: Foster a collaborative environment where entrepreneurs and employers can exchange perspectives and promote tripartite cooperation to create decent work.
