The Lao Business Forum Steering Committee meeting was held on February 21, 2025, at 08:30 AM at the Prime Minister's Office. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao PDR.

The Lao Business Forum Steering Committee meeting was held on February 21, 2025, at 08:30 AM at the Prime Minister's Office. The meeting was chaired by H.E. Saleumxay Kommasith, Deputy Prime Minister of the Lao PDR.
Attendees included representatives from the Lao Business Forum Steering Committee, the Public Sector Coordinating Committee, the Private Sector Consultative Body, and the Lao Business Forum Secretariat, totaling more than 40 delegates.
Key Decisions and Preparations for the 16th LBF

The main purpose of the meeting was to prepare for the organization of the 16th Lao Business Forum, during which the meeting agreed on the following important matters:
- Set April 2, 2025, as the date for hosting the 16th Lao Business Forum.
- Entrusted the Secretariat and the Public Sector Focal Point to determine the theme of the forum.
- Agreed to receive the entities that will deliver speeches according to the draft agenda of the 16th Lao Business Forum (the Asian Development Bank, the European Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Lao PDR, the Chinese Chamber of Commerce in the Lao PDR, and public sector agencies), while also tasking the Secretariat and the Public Sector Focal Point with determining the framework and direction of the speeches to align with the theme of the 16th Lao Business Forum.
- Requested relevant departments and agencies to coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry to continue resolving outstanding issues.
- Scheduled the Public Sector Coordinating Committee meeting for mid or late March 2025 to check the overall readiness before hosting the 16th Lao Business Forum.
Significance of the Lao Business Forum
The Lao Business Forum is considered an important platform for promoting cooperation between the public and private sectors to improve the business environment and implement policies supporting the economic development of the Lao PDR.
